2017 Ford Fiesta
In a vehicle market that is still preoccupied with trucks, SUVs, crossovers, and muscle cars, a subcompact car has to be something special to be truly tempted. To be fair, the 2017 Ford Fiesta won't convince F-Series buyers out of their full-size trucks, but if you're in the market for a car that's fun, compact, affordable, and great to drive, the Fiesta is top of the line.
The Fiesta has been around in its design for a while, but it certainly doesn't look that way when you see it. The 2017 Ford Fiesta is as sleek, sporty, and attractive from any angle as it's ever been. Inside the Fiesta you'll find a wrap-around fighter cockpit style for the driver, while the entire interior is comfortable, stylish, practical, and very nicely put together.
Seven different trim levels currently make up the 2017 Ford Fiesta family, although a few of them are really the same specification split into sedan and hatch versions. The entry level Fiesta is the S model, and then the range goes to the SE and the Titanium that are both available as either four-door sedan or as a four-door hatch.
The Fiesta offers three different engines to choose from, although the vast majority of models will probably be equipped with the standard 120 horsepower 1.6-liter inline-four. This naturally aspirated engine is standard in all Fiesta models other than the ST, but SE sedan and hatch models can be upgraded to the award-winning 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost. As well as excellent fuel efficiency, this amazing three-cylinder engine produces 123 horsepower and delivers an awful lot of fun. When you find out this unit is also going into much larger models such as the Focus and Fusion, it's easy to imagine how great it is in a car as compact and lightweight as the Fiesta.
The Fiesta doesn't disappoint in any way when it comes to fuel efficiency, and that even applies to the performance ST model. Fiestas with a 1.0-liter EcoBoost are unsurprisingly the most fuel-efficient with EPA-estimated ratings of 31 mpg in the city, 41 mpg on the highway and 35 mpg combined. The standard 1.6 isn't a long way back though, with ratings as good as 27 mpg in the city, 37 mpg on the highway and 31 mpg combined.
For the most fun and performance you can have in the Fiesta line, opt for the sensational Fiesta ST. Most of that fun comes down to its 197 horsepower 1.6-liter EcoBoost. However, the fabulously sporty styling of the ST doesn't do any harm either. The performance-orientated ST models are the pinnacle of the Fiesta lineup these days, and they definitely talk-the-talk as well as they walk-the-walk with styling to match the exhilarating performance--but the fuel economy is surprisingly good as well.
You don't have to necessarily want or need great fuel economy to buy a Fiesta, but it is nice to know you're going to get plenty of miles to the gallon with it all the same. With great engines, superb styling and handling that will put a big smile on any driver's face, giving the 2017 Ford Fiesta a try won't leave you disappointed.
