Napa Valley vineyardVisitors flock to California’s Napa Valley each year, and for good reason. The region is renowned for its beautiful scenery, rich history and, perhaps most notably, it’s world-class wine. For oenophiles and amateurs alike, the opportunity to taste wines from Napa Valley is undoubtedly a memorable experience. There are hundreds of wineries and vineyards to experience the full pleasures of the Napa experience – just be sure to bring a designated driver along.

Chimney Rock Winery

Located on the legendary Silverado Trail, Chimney Rock Winery is an essential stop on anyone’s wine tour through the area. Stunning views greet you at the front of the tasting room, designed in an elegant European style. Enjoy a tasting flight inside the sophisticated room, or outside on the patio to take in the priceless views.

Elevate your tasting with a tasting menu of the winery’s premium estate offerings for an unforgettable taste sensation. Enjoy an overview provided by knowledgeable wine educators providing insight into the visionary winemaking of Chimney Rock.

Etude

The Etude tasting room features a different yet equally extraordinary tasting experience. The contemporary Etude tasting room is located close to downtown Napa, offering tastings of its signature Pinot Noir and its smaller-batch Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, and Chardonnay. The grapes are grown and blended at vineyards in the region, with the tasting room serving as a tasting and sales point.

Hewitt Vineyard

Located in nearby Rutherford, Hewitt Vineyard was started nearly 15 years ago and has consistently produced some of the most robust and notable Cabernet Sauvignons in the country. Hewitt’s tasting room is located at its nearby sister winery, Provenance.

Various tasting experiences are available for individual or group visits. Enjoy the view from the glorious patio as you taste the distinctive wines. For a special occasion, consider indulging in the unforgettable Hewitt Tasting Experience, led by a personal wine educator and including a winery tour.

Sterling Vineyards

At Sterling Vineyards, the views are almost as impressive as the wines. Sterling Vineyards is perched 300 feet above the town of Calistoga, affording visitors a spectacular view of the patchwork of green terraced hills. Access the tasting room at the top of the hill via an aerial tram for an exciting ride to the top. Even if you’re not planning on doing a tasting, the ride itself is still worth the visit and makes a great vacation highlight if the kids are traveling with you.

The building in which you will enjoy your tasting is a modest yet striking brilliant white stucco building that channels the Grecian islands where Sterling’s founder once lived. Enjoy your tasting or a light bite on the expansive patio overlooking the splendor of the Napa Valley.

In addition to the wineries explored above, the Napa Valley is a unique region of the country where intrepid explorers will be rewarded with special surprises and captivating views around every twist and turn.
